Great to teach letter recognition
Bought these for my 2.5 year old who loves puzzles. He will sit with us for 30+ minutes playing with them. When we began using these we would allow him to find each letter then tell him what the letter is and once he finished finding each letter for the word we would spell it again. He now recognizes all of the letters and does not need out help to spell them. Great teaching tool and very well made.

So cute and fun ♥️
10/10 would recommend! As soon as I got the letters out for my almost 3 yo he went to work and kept asking for more words. I only sat out the letters that corresponded with the word he was looking at and he sounded it out with me and told me what letters they were, it’s so fun, so educational. We just got it today and I love it but I’m sure I will make it more of a challenge on him adding more letters in there to throw him off. I love this, it’s just what I wanted for him!

finding great quality toys is an absolute must
I may have a slight obsession with Melissa & Doug toys! Having 3 kiddos ages 4 and under, finding great quality toys is an absolute must. This Melissa & Doug puzzle definitely falls right in line with the other high quality toys we've purchased from this company. I do, however, wish a lid (or container) was included to hold the letters. Aside from letters falling out, I have no other complaints about the product. We thought outside of the box and use this for color sorting, letter recognition, word association, building sights words, and matching. Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and am excited to pass it down to my youngest. Highly recommend!

Learning to spell the fun way
This is my grandson's favorite toy. He plays with it on a daily basis, and it has helped him with learning to read. He is 2 years old and knows his alphabet, so putting together the correct letters for the words is a neat activity for him. I like that there are 2 sides to the spelling word boards, so it doubles the number of words he can practice. One drawback is that it does not have a cover to protect the set when not in use. Overall, it appears that this spelling board activity set has increased his focus and attention span.

Awesome puzzles
This puzzle set is adorable!! I received these puzzles today and hated to open them as they are a gift. But, I wanted to make sure all of the quality control issues had been resolved and in the set I received they have been. There were enough letters for every puzzle and all of the pictures and words matched up perfectly!! Our grandsons are going to love these puzzles!!

I am convinced that this is a great company and they make so many amazing products that ...
The name Melissa and Doug immediately gives the impression that the toy is educational, made to last and safe/fun for kids to play with anytime. A couple of years ago we had been given a puzzle for a gift and we were missing one piece for the puzzle, so I called the customer service to help us out with replacing the puzzle piece. I was immediately impressed with the fact Melissa and Doug company did not have an automated message for you to chose options from for customer service support. I waited no longer than 5 minutes to speak to a representative about getting the puzzle replace if possible, and we had it mailed to our home in less than 6 weeks. After having spoken with customer service in regards to replacing the puzzle, I am convinced that this is a great company and they make so many amazing products that has something for every household, age group and safe for kids to play with always. My son had this product in his pre-k class last year. I have been thinking about buying this for us to have in our home and he was interested in this product right away. This product is perfect for my 5 year old to learn how to spell words, identify letters, and to build his sight word vocabulary at the same time. My hope is that it will help the 2 year old to strengthen his fine motor skills while he is starting to learn about the letters on each of the boards in this product. I have high hopes that this product will help my 2 year old that has some developmental delays, to start his interest in letters, words and identifying pictures while he is building his spoken vocabulary.

Great product :)
I was skeptical buying this product because some reviews said there were duplicates or mismatched boards. I got no duplicates and it came in great condition. The bottom of the wooden box has styrofoam and it also comes with a divider (made of styrofoam and cardboard) The only thing I wish it came with was a lid. I work with children with intellectual disabilities and go from home to home. So carrying this without letters falling or the boards from breaking, is going to be difficult. I just got it and am super excited to use this at work with my kiddos.

Great parent / child learning activity. 3 year old approved!
I purchased this for my son who is about to turn three. He has known his letters and letter sounds for about a year now and I wanted to take the next step to spelling. We have used this puzzle twice so far and he is already showing ore interest in spelling other words we see around us. it is bright and fun. It is built well. The entire thing is made out of wood. I found that If I only give him one or two of the words at a time he has an easier job focusing on completing the puzzles and talking about the spelling and letter sounds than if I give him the entire box at once. I enjoy it because it is an activity that my son and I can do together and spend some quality time together without having to sit on the floor and play cars over and over :)

great educational toy
My daughter is 2 1/2 and she already recognizes the letters and places them where they go. She reads me what each wooden card says because the picture next to it really helps me. I find that using one wooden card at a time is better than letting her play with all of them at once because she can get overwhelmed with all the letter scattered around. I select a few extra letters to have her figure things out on her own. I can see her self-esteem just rise whenever she completes a puzzle on her own. All the wooden cards were perfect, just be careful with the letters because they are a bit fragile and the wood can easily start to peel off. Overall, great toy for those parents who want their children to be ahead of the curve and have their children have fun while learning.

Helping us get past a hurtle.
My 3 year old knows her letters. Knows the alphabet. Knows things spell things, but for some reason thinks only the first letter has meaning and hasn't understood that it takes a lot of letters to say something. So we got this for her to help her with her concept. Working well. She had that startled look on her face as she understood what I've been trying to say to her for so long. This was the perfect gift for our situation. Thanks Melissa and Doug! The box came busted, splintered and we didn't use it to store anything in. We put the letters immediately into a plastic bag. The wooden box... wouldn't have been useful anyways as the letters would spill out rather swiftly.
